About Makeup Check AI
Makeup Check AI is a makeup and beauty app for iPhone and Android, with free makeup tools on this website. It is made by I Lov Guitars Inc., a company in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, founded in 2025 by Bruce Rebello. The iOS app was first released on the App Store in June 2025.
What we make
Four free tools that run in your browser on this site:
- Makeup analyzer: your undertone, skin depth, face shape and colour season from a selfie, with matching makeup colours.
- Virtual try-on: 26 lipstick, blush and eyeshadow looks painted onto your own photo.
- Brow mapping: where each brow should start, peak and end, marked on your photo.
- Color Match: a colour season and palette from the skin tone and undertone you pick, no photo needed.
There is also a foundation shade matcher that compares 1,242 foundation shades from 26 brands by colour distance, and a Chrome extension.
The app has the same four tools on the same account, plus 24 AI reports (such as makeup generation on your own selfie, a contour map, makeup analysis from a photo or video, colour season and a cosmetic ingredient scanner), a looks gallery, tutorials with AI feedback on your recorded attempt, beauty plans and chat about your reports.
How your photos are handled
- Web tools: the analysis runs in your browser using Google's MediaPipe face landmark model. Your photo is not sent to us.
- Tools in the app: the analysis runs on your phone, and the finished result is saved to your account so you can find it later.
- AI reports in the app: the photo or video you upload is stored in our cloud storage and sent to AI providers (OpenAI, Google Gemini or xAI) to produce the report. Face photos and videos are not sold or shared for marketing. You can delete them, your reports or your whole account in the app.

What is free
A free account (Google or Apple sign-in) gets 4 runs a day of the four tools, shared between this website and the app. Premium removes the daily limit, unlocks the full depth of each tool result and includes the AI reports. A single report credit unlocks one result. The app is free to download.
What it is not
Makeup Check AI gives makeup and beauty guidance. It is not a diagnostic tool and is not a substitute for a professional makeup artist, a dermatologist or medical advice. Its results come from your photo, so lighting, filters and makeup you are already wearing change them. Our tool pages describe what each tool measures and the rules it applies, so you can judge a result for yourself.
